2017 Pirate Football

Good grades, great sportsmanship, unrivaled spirit, and playing hard is what we are all about!

The 2017 season promises to continue our winning tradition of football at OGAA! The Oak Grove Pirates compete in the East Wake Football League. The EWFL is made of 16 teams in 15 townships in the surrounding areas. The season consists of 8 regular season games and an 8 team playoff to crown a league champion. JOIN US!

SEASON BEGINS: August 1, 2017

Fifth Quarter: Age 6/7 Weight Limit 105 lbs.
Mini-Mites: Age 7/8 Weight Limit 105 lbs.
Mighty Mites: Age 9/10 Weight Limit 135 lbs.
Pee Wee: Age 11/12 Weight Limit 160 lbs.


Each team participant will receive the following:
•One full season of Football in the East Wake Football League and any post-season play achieved following the regular season (8 games minimum)
•Pre-season scrimmages with non-conference opponents of the EWFL
•One pair of integrated game pants
•One practice jersey
•One pair of game socks
•One Mouth Guard
•Half-time and Post Game Snacks
•A developed football program focusing on skills and player development
•All practices (3 per week) for Football Program in the same location and time.

Each Team participant will be provided the following equipment for their use during the season:
•One Schutt Youth Football Helmet
•One set of Youth Shoulder Pads
•One Game Jersey
***Note: Registration fee must be paid in full before any equipment is issued.

Items you will need to provide:
• Cleats
• 4 Point Youth Chinstrap

TACKLE FOOTBALL CONDITIONING WEEK: Monday, July 31 through Friday, Aug 4 from 6:15 to 8 pm each day

PRACTICE DAYS are: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
6:15 to 8 pm

Cheerleading Camp 2017

During our week long camp, campers will focus on getting in shape and learning skills great for cheer, dance and other disciplines that incorporate voice projection, enthusiastic presentation, jumps, formations and choreographed routines while learning how to lead AND work as a team.

Campers will learn jumps, chants/cheers and a short choreographed routine. Campers choosing to join our cheer squad in the fall will already have things they can help teach new and returning cheerleaders.

We will also be providing some healthy eating tips and laying the foundation for our fitness initiative that we plan to incorporate into our cheer program for the upcoming season.

We are excited about the things to come and we hope you will join us each step of the way.

Football Camp 2017

Learning to play football requires athleticism, speed and the ability to execute plays under stressful conditions. Football skills involves blocking, catching, and running with the ball. Football requires a number of other skills, including footwork, hand-eye coordination and the ability to use leverage to bring down an opponent for a tackle.

We have put together a camp that will work through skills training using drills and other techniques as we begin conditioning the players for the upcoming season. The camp will cover general and position specific training, motivational speakers and more.

There are 5 days for this camp:
Monday, June 19 ~ 6:30-8 pm
Tuesday, June 20 ~ 6:30-8 pm
Thursday, June 22 ~ 6:30 - 8 pm
Friday, June 23 ~ 6:30 - 8 pm
Saturday, June 24 ~ 6:30 - 9 pm

NOTE: Participants must turn 6 before August 1, 2016 and cannot turn 13 before August 1, 2017.

Cheer With Champions 2017

The OGAA cheer program focuses on esteeming young girls with self-confidence, physical fitness and leadership qualities. OGAA cheer offers girls the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading including jumps, formations and basic tumbling in a safe, fun family environment. Our coaches work with each girl, helping them learn proper posture, drills, and cheers. Our league allows for four (4) squads:

Mascots (Ages 4-5)
Mini Mites (Ages 6-8)
Mighty Mites (Ages 9-10)
Pee Wees (Ages 11-12)

*Age is determined as of August 1st of the current season.

Registration fee secures a roster spot for the fall cheerleading season. There will be an additional fee for cheer gear (uniform and accessories) due in June. The fee for gear must be paid in full by July 31st.

Registration Fees:
$40 for Mascots
$60 for Minis, Mighty Mites and PeeWees

Cheer practice will run concurrently with football practice. Mascots will practice on Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 pm. Mini Mites, Mighty Mites and Pee Wees will practice on Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 pm.
